Snow Studio
In August 2018 Snow Library received a grant from the Mass. Board of Library Commissioners and the Institute of Museum and Library Services to launch Snow Studio, a makerspace located in the former craft area on the library’s lower level. Equipment and furnishings were installed in the fall, and in January 2019 the studio was opened to the public. The grant funded nine months’ worth of workshops - from printmaking to sewing to songwriting - led by local artists, artisans and musicians. All ages participated.
While the official grant program ended in October 2019, crafts and activities for adults and children continue to be offered in the space. In our Snow Studio classes, we’ve made paper airplanes, designed “happy mail,” painted still lifes, and built a dollhouse out of recycled and found materials.
