Telescope
Snow Library’s Orion StarBlast Telescope may be lent out to patrons for viewing objects in the night sky, learning more about the solar system and developing an appreciation of the many wonders of the universe. The "tabletop" telescope is designed for the amateur star-gazer and requires some minor training to be used.
The program was made possible by Orleans residents Jarvis and Judith Hunt, who donated the telescope to the library. Jarvis, an astronomy enthusiast, was a science educator and a member of the Cape Cod Astronomical Society.
To borrow the telescope, you must be 18 years or older and in possession of a CLAMS library card in good standing (fines not exceeding $25). You must also receive a training from library staff on the use of the ‘scope (to schedule a training, email Kaimi at klum@clamsnet.org). If staff are not available, a link to a training video will be provided.
