Library fund honors memory of Ann Booth Jamieson
Snow Library has gratefully accepted a gift of $25,000 from the estate of Ann Booth Jamieson, who died in August 2020. The library’s Ann Booth Jamieson Fund will support library programs and the development of its collection.
Born in Goshen, N.Y. in 1929, Ann was the daughter of Pierson Booth and Helen Elizabeth Collier Booth. She graduated from Stanford University in 1951 with a bachelor’s degree in political science and went on to a career in journalism as well as with the U.S. Department of State. Her foreign service assignments took her around the globe, including an extended mission in Beirut, Lebanon. She later worked on the staff at Time Magazine, where she met her husband, Edward.
Ann and Edward, who died in 2018, resided in New York City until their retirement, after which they divided their time between New York and East Orleans. They were active patrons of the library.
