Land and Seascapes, an exhibit of 40 paintings by Eastham artists Margaret Furness and Jody Shyllberg, is showing for the month of June in the Craine Gallery. Both artists share their interpretations of coastal landscapes, seascapes and the people of Cape Cod.

An award-winning artist, Margaret has worked in various media for 40 years. Peggy has received instruction and inspiration from the Cape Cod School of Art, Indiana University, The Art Institute of Chicago, and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. The painting Red Gloves was inspired by a photo Margaret took hanging from the top rail of "Jocelyn C,” a Chatham long-liner.

Margaret is a member of the Eastham Painters Guild.

After 30-plus years as an award-winning graphic designer and illustrator, Jody returned to her love for painting in oil and pastel. She continues her art education taking various classes and workshops.

Jody is president of the Eastham Painters Guild, juried associate member of the Pastel Society of America, juried artist member of the Cape Cod Art Association, juried member of the National Association of Women Artists, and member of the Allied Artists of America, Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod, Central MA Pastel Society and the Creative Arts Center.

A reception will be held on June 10, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., in the gallery. Please stop by to enjoy art, light refreshments and meet Margaret and Jody.
