‘Dial M for Murder’ and more as Lifetime Learning heads into March

Leigh and David Fisher return with their “Reel Time” course on “Great Movies from Great Directors” (cancelled last year due to COVID-19) as Lifetime Learning continues online at Snow Library in March. The Reel Time class begins at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3, with a screening and discussion of Alfred Hitchcock’s “Dial M For Murder,” starring Grace Kelly, Ray Milland and Robert Cummings. The series continues with a different movie every Wednesday through March 31.

Learn how to achieve stillness and peace in today’s world with James Kershner, an ordained Buddhist meditation leader, who will teach the ancient practice of mindfulness meditation in a series that begins at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 5. “Meditation in Stressful Times” continues Fridays through the 19th.

On Tuesday, March 2 at 10:30 a.m., Joseph Auciello continues his course on Salman Rushdie and “The Satanic Verses,” leading an in-depth discussion of this major literary work and its social, religious and cultural references.

On Thursday, March 4 at 1:30 p.m., Richard Finnegan presents part two of his four-class course examining what happened to the optimism and dreams that today’s baby boomers held when they were students in the 1950s and ‘60s. (Note: This class was originally scheduled for Tuesday, March 2 but had to be moved to March 4.)

And on Friday, March 5 at 10:30 a.m., Paul Coteus and John Ward resume their discussion of “Weather & Climate Change Forecasting Explained, with Specifics for Cape Cod.”
