In Matt Fitzpatrick's new novel "Demon Tide," a quaint New England town meets the growing opioid epidemic head-on. The town’s casualties build up as local law enforcement, as well as out-of-towners in the form of Justin McGee and his “family,” realize that it’s a crime that stems within the community’s own. A town whose roots are the source of pride and soul-felt history is shattered with the knowledge that so many of its residents have been infiltrated by the New England-Nova Scotia drug trade.

Fitzpatrick, recently featured in Cape Cod Life magazine, is the creator of the Justin McGee mystery series. The first book in the series, "Crosshairs," was published in 2018, followed by "Matriarch Game" in 2020.
