Join an online book discussion with Snow Library’s First Tuesday Book Club. On Feb. 2 we’ll be discussing non-fiction - this time, “The Kingdom of Speech” by Tom Wolfe, a work of literary journalism in which Wolfe takes Charles Darwin and Noam Chomsky to task for their methods of research and reasoning. The New York Times called it “a whooping, joy-filled and hyperbolic raid on, of all things, the theory of evolution, which he finds to be less scientific certainty than ‘a messy guess - baggy, boggy, soggy and leaking all over the place’.” The Guardian called it “a bonfire of facts, reeking of vanity.”
