"From Page to Stage: Dracula, Tolstoy, and Adaptation" is a literary event held in conjunction with the near-simultaneous production of two new stage plays written by author Bragan Thomas based on Bram Stoker's famous 1897 novel and an 1847 short story, 'The Family of a Vourdalak' by Count Alexis Tolstoy, cousin to the author of War and Peace. The evening will present a teaser performance of a scene from each show, after which the playwright will speak about the complexities of bringing stories told in prose to life onstage. Director Anne-Marie Johansen will also speak about the process necessary to realize a dramatic script onstage. The event will be held in the library’s Craine Room
