In this four-part, Zoom-only course taught by Marc Strauss, viewers will learn about an array of dance musicals from the 1930s through the 1960s. Fred Astaire, the Nicholas Brothers, Gene Kelly, and Jerome Robbins are considered the pinnacle of dance in film musical stardom. Choreographically and in performance, these dance artists helped establish and maintain artistry for over four decades on stage and then in film forever. Through introductions, historical background, and discussion, Marc will guide the audience through four decades of great dance film musicals.

2/26: Top Hat (1935; Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers)
3/4: Stormy Weather (1943; Nicholas Brothers)
3/11: An American in Paris (1951; Gene Kelly)
3/18: West Side Story (1961; Jerome Robbins)
