This class led by Joseph Auciello will read and discuss many of the short stories of Ernest Hemingway, one of the greatest and most influential prose stylists of the 20th century. He is also someone whose views and life have made him a controversial figure. The stories for the first class are “A Way You’ll Never Be,” “The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber,” “Under the Ridge” and “The Snows of Kilimanjaro.” Auciello will be referencing the Scribner edition entitled “The Hemingway Stories” with an introduction by Tobias Woolf.
Auciello is an English teacher and department head in public and private schools, and a published journalist on literature, education and politics.
