In this class, Gordon Talley will examine the life, work and legacy of Ansel Adams. Ansel Adams brought the majesty of the American landscape, especially his beloved Yosemite, to us all. His vision of an eternal nature—and his masterful technique to portray it—has shaped how we see beauty. Together we’ll look at the photos Adams considered his very best, learn the stories behind them, and trace his legacy forward. New generations of photographers, in particular Robert Adams (no relation), see human impact as an indelible part of the natural world. Yet Adams’ artistry endures despite these conflicting ideas.
