The second class in political science prof Russ Leng’s two-part series takes up “The Case of Afghanistan.” Prof. Leng will provide an overview of legal, moral, and practical issues related to intervention, with illustrations from the historical record of the U.S., and follow with an in-depth look at the U.S. intervention in Afghanistan between the 1979 Soviet invasion and the 2001 American-led NATO invasion.
