Lifetime Learning: Music of the Baroque

  • Snow Library 67 Main Street Orleans, MA United States (map)

In the Baroque era, the notion of the orchestra came into its own, and composers started to layer instruments up in complex polyphony, different musical parts, and harmony. Joe Marchio, assistant conductor of the Cape Symphony, will illustrate these developments with a study of many of the famous composers of that period, including Monteverdi, Strozzi, Pachelbel, Purcell, Vivaldi, Telemann, Bach, and Handel.
