In this class, former Attorney-General of MA and National President of Common Cause Scott Harshbarger will lead a discussion and evaluation of the strength and fragility of American democracy and the rule of law. He will consider the impact of the Republican-led House, the economy and inflation, the war in Ukraine, investigations and indictments of the former president, the “Culture Wars”, Supreme Court decisions and ethics and the resurgence of focus on state and local government. Are we confident that we have weathered the storm, that “It Can’t Happen Here”? With one year past since the 2022 Midterm results and just a year to go before the 2024 election, Scott is asking people to evaluate where we stand.
